Her parents were unaware of her absence. They were thinking that she had gone outside with the family dog.
Later when she did not return home for a long time, her father, Jeb Chillson reported her daughter Jaylee’s missing report.
On Sept. 16, 2023, the Cloud County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Jaylee had run away from home. She was then located by a deputy, at an outdoor party at Aurora, Kan.
The party location was approximately 40 minutes from their home, hoping to find his daughter.
When the deputy found Jaylee, he was bringing her to his vehicle, and that is when she pulled out a gun and shot herself.
She was pronounced dead on the spot after midnight on Sept. 27. The department said that the deputy and multiple party-goers witnessed the unfortunate incident.
The reason she took her life according to her mother is because of the bully. Her mum Stacy said,
“I’ve read days worth of messages from her ‘friends’ that treated her absolutely awful.”
