The Germa-Israeli woman who was kidnapped by Hamas militants on October 7 has been confirmed dead. The death was confirmed by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry posted on X, formerly known as Twitter,
“We are devastated to share that the body of 23 year old German-Israeli Shani (Louk) was found and identified.”
Her mother Ricarda Louk told CNN,
“She was a beautiful, lively person. She just enjoyed laughing, and experiencing life, and so it was just cut too short.”

Shani Louk, born on 7th February 2001, tragically passed away on October 7, 2023, at the age of 31.
She was born in Berlin, Germany, to her parents Ricarda Louk and Mr. Louk. She is of mixed(Polish-German) ethnicity and follows the Jewish-Christian religion.
Her father, Mr. Louk, was an immigrant from Poland who had survived the Holocaust. While, her mother, Ricarda, was a native of Germany.
Shani has a sister, Adi Louk.
She graduated from the High School of Berlin, and she pursued further education at the University of Berlin.
