Bethany Hamilton is a one-hand surfer because she lost her arm. At the age of 13, a 14-foot tiger shark attacked her while surfing in Kauai where her left arm was attacked.
Despite losing an arm, she did not give up on her passion and continued to live her dream despite the odds.
After the month of the accident, she was back in the water practising. Within two years, she was able to learn how to surf with one arm and achieved her first national surfing title.
